Commonly called ‘shells’ or ‘sea shells’ because of their shape, Conchigliette are a type of pasta which do actually look like conch shells. In fact, the word ‘conchiglia’ in Italian means seashell. This mini shell shape pasta, is a familiar ingredient in minestrone soup and is very popular in salads.
